Some who know my mom may find it funny that I use a Bible verse in a blog about her.  I know mom didn’t go to church, but I do believe she believed in God and may have even had her own relationship with Him.  I know mom didn’t go to church because of the hypocrites that go.  That is the whole reason she didn’t go.  She did attend some mother/daughter banquets with me at church.  Mom always supported me in my faith and my decision to go to church.  She even gave advice (sometimes unwanted) about where I should go to church and about problems I might be having there.  Mom definitely knew how important it was to me and was there for me.  I did learn a lot of Biblical principles from mom as well.  I learned to treat people with respect and love.  I learned to help those in need and to not judge people by the way they look or live.  I also learned to not let myself be walked on.  I also learned a love for animals and plants from mom.  I don’t know how many animals mom helped and some even took in.  Between the cats that were in the parking lot at Big John’s and Hux we had several that came to live with us.  She never kept the dogs, but she made sure they were taken care of.  I also learned to love flowers and gardening from her.  I loved to help her with it all.  Too bad I didn’t get her green thumb to go with my love.  With Mother’s Day being this past Sunday I miss her more than usual.   All in all, my mom may not have gone to church but she has been a huge part of the Christian woman I have become.  She was a loving mother that was there for me when I needed it.  Like I said, sometimes she was there with the advice and I didn’t really want it.  But, that was mom she said what she thought.  I also got that from her.  It is a blessing but also a curse as well.  Thank you God for making her my mom.   I will forever love and miss you mom!!!

Take care and God bless,

Sherri
